Executive Bios

Marilyn Haese, Partner

 

Marilyn Haese is a principal of Haese & Wood Marketing and Public Relations, a fullservice marketing communications and public relations agency, located in Los Angeles' Century City business complex.  Prior to launching her own agency in 1990, Haese was executive vice president-assistant general manager of the Los Angeles office of The Rowland Company, the worldwide public relations unit of Saatchi & Saatchi PLC, London.  In this post, Haese spearheaded new business efforts in retail, restaurant, health care, and travel services, and handled day-to-day management and account supervision in the West Coast office.  Haese has spent more than two decades providing marketing communications programs for clients in the insurance, technology, travel and health care industries.  She also worked on state and federal legislative issues and, on an ongoing basis, set up editorial board meetings, press conferences and news briefings to educate the media and the public on that status of and varies legislative issues of interest to commerce and industry.  Early in her career, Haese had the honor to serve as Assistant Medical Press Chief for the Los Angeles Olympic Organizing Committee. In 2004, she was elected Vice President of the Southern California American Marketing Association.  She has also served as president of the Healthcare Public Relations and Marketing Association, and on the boards of Publicity Club of Los Angeles and the Public Interest Radio & Television Educational Society.  A native of Minnesota and a journalism graduate of California State University Long Beach, Haese worked as a reporter for an Orange County, California daily newspaper and as a ready-to-wear buyer in the retail industry prior to entering public relations.  

 

Warren Wood Cereghino, Partner

 

Warren Wood Cereghino is a principal of Haese & Wood, providing services in the area of crisis management, crisis communications, and media spokesperson training.  A veteran television news executive, he has prepared people for what became successful walks in front of the crosshairs of media sharpshooting "60 Minutes".  Most recently the executive producer of a daily national news program for the broadcast entity of Chris-Craft Industries, Cereghino has a long history with NBC News, as well as Tribune Company, Cox Enterprises, Metromedia, McClatchy Newspapers and Meredith Publishing.  Among honors he has earned for his employers is the prestigious George Foster Peabody award (known as the Pulitzer Prize of broadcasting) which was awarded to KTLA-TV News in Los Angeles for the station’s handling of the controversial Rodney King beating tape.  Cereghino was news director of KTLA at the time.  He garnered a half-dozen Emmy Awards for KTLA and KNBC-TV, as well as locally prestigious "Golden Mikes".  General Telephone, Exxon, Reynolds Aluminum, Chevron, Sunkist, Southern California Gas Company, The Petroleum Institute and the Council of California Growers are among the prestigious clients he has helped train for media opportunity.

 

Daryn Teague, Senior Associate

 

Daryn N. Teague is a senior associate with Haese & Wood Marketing and Public Relations.  Teague began his career in public affairs at Mixner/Scott, where he participated in daily account activities for major clients such as Chevron, AT&T and the Western Oil and Gas Association.  Later he served as a consultant in public affairs for the Irvin Hampton Company, where he specialized in community relations and government relations.  Teague also worked at Clinton Reilly company to as a district coordinator for the insurance industry's multi-million dollar initiative campaign.  During this tenure, he worked closely with industry executives in planning and implementing public affairs strategy.  He returned to public affairs that fall as a part-time consultant in the public affairs department at Hill & Knowlton, the world's largest public relations agency.  Teague also worked at The Rowland Company, a division of Saatchi & Saatchi, Ltd., at the time the largest communications consulting company in the world.  During his tenor, Teague developed his investor relations expertise and also worked on a variety of clients including Rent-A-Wreck., Lexus, a major Los Angeles area hospital, and 21st Century Insurance.  At Haese & Wood, Teague works on a variety of accounts represented in industries ranging from technology to health care to benefits and insurance. Clients include ADP Claims Services Group, Online Transaction Technologies, Health Insurance.com, Aspen Youth Services, and EZ-CAP Software Solutions.  His work in financial public relations has earned him two PRISM awards from the Public Relations Society of America.   Teague graduated with honors, magna cum laude, with a bachelor of arts degree in political science from the University of Southern California.   

 

Bobbi Rubinstein, Senior Associate

 

Bobbi Rubinstein is a media specialist with Haese & Wood. She has over twenty years experience in publicity, journalism and TV/film production with a diverse skill set in media relations, writing and program management. Her quick-study ability has led to niches in health care, restaurant/food, entertainment, home/resort development and cause marketing. Bobbi has been a local columnist for the Los Angeles Times and staff writer for a regional newspaper and several non-profit newsletters. She learned the art of pitching clients at International Creative Management, a national talent agency, while working as both an agent’s assistant and the TV literary department assistant. While at ICM, Bobbi served as an associate producer/production coordinator on productions at Disney, Universal and Paramount. Here she learned the importance of providing personal service to celebrities such as Jay Leno, Tom Hanks and Ron Howard. 

Bobbi has a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from UCLA and is a member of the Public Relations Society of America, Los Angeles Chapter.

 

Brenna Harrington, Senior Associate

 

Brenna Harrington is a seasoned public relations professional with more than two decades of industry experience.  Harrington began her career in Atlanta, where she served as an in-house editorial assistant at a community hospital.  From there, she moved on to a larger regional children's hospital and to Pringle Dixon Pringle, one of the largest and most prestigious public relations agencies in the Southeast. Harrington moved to Los Angeles in 1987 and joined The Rowland Company, one of the major players in the world-wide public relations industry and an agency noted for its expertise in health care, pharmaceuticals and medical equipment product launches.  At Rowland, she again played a key role on many diverse accounts including Saint John's Hospital and Health Center, Unitek, 3M, Stuart Anderson's Black Angus and Cattle Company Restaurants and Phillips Consumer Electronics.  Harrington's campaigns and projects have won numerous awards including the Public Relations Society of America's PRISM award for press kits, and a Merit Award from the Hospital Public Relations and Marketing Association. A Florida resort grand and hotel opening won the Marriott Mark and Marriott Silver Mark awards respectively.  Her clients have appeared on THE TODAY SHOW, GOOD MORNING AMERICA, ARSENIO HALL and in GLAMOUR MAGAZINE, U.S. NEWS AND WORLD REPORTS.   Harrington's responsibilities as account supervisor with Haese & Wood have included supervising a number of accounts, including ADP Integrated Medical Systems, the Institute for Healthcare Advancement, EZ-CAP Software Solutions, PM Group Health Plan, Pacificare's Prescriptions Solutions, and InterNet Medical Systems.

 

Chuck Rossie, Media Trainer, Consultant

 

Chuck Rossie has been working with Haese & Wood for more than a decade providing spokesperson training programs for clients around the country. He has personally coached more than 3,000 executives to prepare them for news encounters and has made presentations to thousands more at conventions and conferences. Chuck is a regular instructor at the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services programs for law enforcement, public safety, government, and industry on crisis communications. He was also Senior Vice President of the Foundation for American Communications.  Chuck worked in television news for 15 years, the last five of which were at KNBC TV, where he won an Emmy citation for the local newscast. He also worked at the Los Angeles Times, the Fresno Bee, Modesto Bee, Sacramento Bee and KOVR TV.
